The German Society for Aligner Orthodontics (DGAO) awards the DGAO Science Prize for the second time at its 3rd Scientific Congress in Cologne on November 21st and 22nd, 2014. With immediate effect, individuals and research groups can once again apply for the DGAO Science Prize, which is endowed with 14.000 euros.

This award was accepted on November 24, 2012 by a Cologne-Bonn working group of four led by Mareike Simon, Prof. Dr. Christopher Bourauel, Dr. Ludger Keilig and Dr. Jörg Schwarze in Cologne. Her complex study of the efficiency of tooth movement with the Invisalign® system convinced the DGAO Board of Trustees. "The preliminary biomechanical and clinical investigations are unique in this comprehensive form, so we awarded this research group the prize," said Prof. em. dr Rainer-Reginald Miethke, President of the DGAO. At the same time, it recognizes the high quality of the scientific work submitted.

The science prize is awarded every two years by a board of trustees of the DGAO on the occasion of the scientific congress. The next time this will be on November 22, 2014. Scientific work on the topic of aligner orthodontics that has not yet been published will be awarded. The award winners will have the opportunity to present their results to the specialist audience during the congress.

The Board of Trustees consists of six members of the DGAO: Prof. em. dr Rainer-Reginald Miethke, Prof. Dr. dr Gernot Goz, Dr. Boris Sonnenberg, Dr. Joerg Black, Dr. Thomas Drechsler and Dr. Julia Haubrich.

Interested applicants should apply to the office of the DGAO eV, Lindenfühlstraße 30c, 2014 Stuttgart by September 29, 70176. Further information on the conditions of participation is available on the website.
